Welcome to the San Elizario Genealogy & Historical Society.
Our purpose is to promote and preserve the history and culture of San Elizario and encourage interest in family research.

The San Elizario Genealogy & Historical Society – a 501© non-profit organization is housed in the historic Los Portales Museum Building, right next to the San Elizario Presidio Church.

El Camino Real De Tierra Adentro
National Historic Trail

This artery of commerce and travel was known as El Camino Real De Tierra Adentro , which meant Royal Road or King’s Highway of the Interior Lands. Of the great highways leading north, this was the oldest, having been extended by segments throughout the 16th century. For a time, it also enjoyed the distinction of being the longest road in North America.





The San Elizario Genealogy & Historical Society, supports the Veterans Memorial Museum
(Eduardo Pedregon Memorial Veterans Museum) through the S.E.G.H.S. Veterans Committee.



The Veterans Memorial Museum is located in San Elizario Historic District on Main Street in the Main Street Mercantile Building.
The Committee's Veterans Memorial Walk Project is located in front of the Veterans Memorial Museum.
